Providing Quality Accommodation since 2016
Founded all the way back in 2016, HI Tehran Hostel has been one of the best hostels in the city and the country for a while now and has only become a better, more responsible, and more welcoming place of accommodation through the years: With a dormitory and 5 private rooms, HI Tehran has been providing tourists with quality accommodation and services ever since its foundation. They’ve recently gone under some brand renovations only to become more appealing, which is why we want to highlight them as one of our personal favorite Tehran hostels!
HI Tehran: The First Hostel in Iran to be Founded by Two Women
The first and most impressive thing that comes to mind when talking about HI Tehran Hostel is the fact that it is the first hostel in Iran to be founded and operated by women. Solo female travelers are very common in Iran, but there are some misconceptions as well as some definite dangers for women who want to visit Iran by themselves. What makes HI Tehran special is that its founders have a lot of insight into this matter (not only because they’re women, but because one of them has had a lot of experience in backpacking).
Today, you will find many hostels in Iran that are founded and run by women (including our very own Isfahan hostels, Sarv and Mahbibi), but being the pioneers, Golnar and Habibeh are a source of inspiration for travelers and hostellers/those working in hospitality and traveling industries alike. In a country that has unfortunately been patriarchal for ages (due to political, religious, and cultural) and remains so today, such an accomplishment should not be overlooked easily. Now, that may not be reason enough to stay at HI Tehran Hostel, but that is certainly far from the only thing they have to offer!
Eco-friendly Hostel in Tehran
HI Tehran Hostel’s mission statement is to better fulfill Iran’s potential for tourism in a responsible way. That is why they have gone green since 2019 (you can read more about their decision in their blog) and encourage guests to do the same. Their contribution to this important cause is to eliminate their use of paper in the hostel’s different processes and services, use home-grown products for breakfast service, reuse water, provide shopping bags for guests to use, and much more. Our hat’s off to them and we certainly hope that we all strive a bit more every day to be conscious of our environment, our culture, and our community.
Rooms
If you’re looking for reasonably priced, high-quality accommodation in the capital of Iran, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better place than HI Tehran Hostel. Whether you choose the 8-bed dormitory or one of the stylishly decorated private rooms, you can rest assured about the hygiene, privacy, quality of sleep, and safety of your booking. The best thing is, you can book directly through their website!
Services
You can benefit from the many useful services that the hostel offers during your stay: The free breakfast and Wi-Fi are obvious contenders, but what you will have in HI Tehran in addition to what’s included in your stay is the option to relax in the beautiful courtyard, make the most of your time with the exciting tours that are offered, and so much more. You know that you are in good hands at HI Tehran!
